Change your Mind to Change your Life

Living Smoke Free
New Scientist vol 136 issue 1845 - 31 October 92, page 6

Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking, according to the largest ever scientific comparison of ways of breaking the habit. Willpower, it turns out, counts for very little.  I will help you live a smoke free life effortlessly and easily - it doesn't have to be hard!

Weight Loss
How would you like to enjoy eating healthily? to not be subject to cravings for foods that aren't in your best interest? to wake up every day knowing that today you will be another day closer to your ideal weight? Using hypnosis and NLP, weight management can be an enjoyable journey towards a happier, healthier you. You can change your relationship with food and get out of the unhealthy cycle of weight gain-loss-gain-loss and stay at your ideal weight, feeling healthy and self-confident.

Spelling for Kids
Spelling is an important and fundamental language skill that does not come "naturally" to everyone. In fact, intelligent people who otherwise excel in the classroom, even in language abilities, may experience strong and even debilitating difficulties in spelling. According to NLP ability with spelling is not a function of some kind of 'spelling gene' but rather the structure of the internal cognitive strategy one is using as one spells. Thus, if people experience difficulty with spelling, it is not because they are 'stupid,' 'lazy' or 'learning disabled' but rather because they are trying to use an ineffective mental program.- Robert Dilts

I use the NLP Spelling Strategy to give children a simple and fast way to learn to spell that they will have for the rest of their lives.

Phobias
Phobias can be tiresome. I know my spider phobia was. Constantly jumping, terrified and screaming whenever I saw one. Well, I got rid of my phobia, and you can too. I'm not saying I love spiders now - who would want to? - but my response to them has changed dramatically. I actually sat next to a big old huntsman spider for an hour - it was on the wall next to my chair - and other than an occasional glance, I didn't think about it at all.  You too can have this level of comfort with whatever is making you have a response that you're not happy with. Spiders, snakes, elevators, flying, geckos, green m&m's - whatever it is - you don't have to suffer any longer.

Depression
Some people say that depression feels like a black curtain of despair coming down over their lives. Some say they have no energy and can't concentrate, others feel irritable for no apparent reason and others have extreme difficulty sleeping. But whilst the symptoms of depression may vary from person to person, one thing is clear; it is one of the most debilitating conditions of modern times.

If you’re suffering from depression, you may feel 'alone', whereas in-fact this is far from the case. As many as one in six people will suffer with some form of depression at some point during their lives. But due to the stigma that still seems to be attached to depression even today, a lot of people still choose to go through life without ever seeking help, accepting that depression is just 'part of them'.

Well you shouldn’t - depression is very treatable.

The effectiveness of hypnosis lies in the fact that the routes of depression reside in our unconscious mind, that part of us that controls our beliefs, feelings, emotions and behaviours. And it is our unconscious mind that is responsible for getting us deeply absorbed in the erroneous or negative patterns of thinking, behaving and relating to others that are often the primary symptoms of depression.

Because Hypnotherapy and NLP focus on effecting change in our unconscious mind, they have been found to be extremely helpful in relieving the symptoms of, and dealing with, the causes of depression. I can help retrain my clients to respond in  more resourceful and positive ways. Hypnosis is proven to be a fast and effective means of teaching people new ways of thinking; a vehicle for accessing new possibilities for feelings and behaviours, in a quick and integrated manner.

Allergies
IBS
By reaching the subconscious level of the mind, hypnotherapy can be used to alter the way a person consciously perceives health problems, and also promote new manners of response to them. Hypnosis and self-hypnosis have been repeatedly proven to be highly effective means of alleviating all of the various symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS, or "spastic colon"), including pain, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, nausea, and gas.

Blushing
Hypnosis can help to stop blushing in a number of different ways. Blushing is an unconscious reaction to certain stimuli. Hypnotherapy can work with your unconscious mind to program in new, positive unconscious reactions to these external triggers to make blushing a thing of the past. Hypnosis can also help to control blushing by helping you to feel less uncomfortable in situations where you are prone to becoming flushed. A good hypnotherapist can work with you to build your confidence and assertiveness so that you are less likely to feel vulnerable and respond by blushing.

Nail Biting
No longer will you need to be self-conscious about your hands. You can have long elegant nails - hypnosis to stop nail biting will restore your confidence in your appearance and let you wave your hands around with abandon!

Stress Management
Have you been impacted by the latest economic situation? Hypnosis and NLP can help you  to manage your stress in a more productive and hopeful way. Anxiety and Stress can have a negative impact on your relationships and your feelings of self-worth. Hypnotherapy can help guide you to a place where you can face your very real issues with confidence and hope.

Overcoming Trauma (PTSD)
If you've experienced a trauma, it can have very stressful effects on you long past the time when the trauma is over.  It happens that you can constantly think about your trauma, and you always think about it in a particular way. You will then find it always affects you in the same way, with the same thoughts and feelings and behaviours. And the way that you think of the problem makes it certain that you will think about it again – with the same results.

If you could find a new way to think about it, a way that does not have the stressful effect on you, then different thoughts, feelings and behaviours would result. And this would break the pattern – it would be gone.

It can be done. You can learn how to re-educate your thinking about the trauma, and get the same result that some achieve only after many years: a new perspective and new emotions and feelings.

and much more.
